To provide a radioactive material inventory management apparatus and a radioactive material inventory management method which can reduce the time, labor and exposure required for radioactive material inventory management and surely perform radioactive material inventory management.SOLUTION: A radioactive material inventory management apparatus comprises: an inventory management storage box 2 which has a plurality of radioactive material storage parts 2a; a radiation detector 4 which is provided in each radioactive material storage part; an inventory situation display device 3 which is provided in each radioactive material storage part and displays information about whether or not a radioactive material is stored from the state of radiation detection by the radiation detector; an input device 5 which unlocks the corresponding radioactive material storage part when a permission number that is input when the user takes out the radioactive material is valid, and does not unlock the radioactive material storage part when the permission number is not valid; and a main system 7 which assigns the permission number and transmits information about the assigned permission number to the input device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
