Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a perfluoroalkylation reactant which is more easily used, gives a different ratio of the isomers in the products and is more economical as compared with a conventional technique.
CONSTITUTION: A perfluoroalkylation reactant is constituted of (a) a perfluoroalkanesulphinate ion and (b) a monoelectronic oxidizing system whose redox potential measured by using a saturated calomel electrode (ECS: Hg/ HgCl2) as a standard is greater than or equal to 1.20 V to perfluoroalkylate nucleophilic substrates with the reactant.
