Abstract:
PURPOSE:To monitor the failure of an electric control system including a steering angle ratio sensor and improve the reliability of the control of a rear wheel steering system by providing steering angle sensors on front and rear wheel steering systems respectively and comparing outputs of the sensors with the rear wheel steering angle ratio signal and the car speed signal. CONSTITUTION:In a four-wheel steered vehicle, the right and left wheels 5 are steered by a rear wheel steering ratio variable mechanism 11 and a hydraulic power steering device 7 constituting a rear wheel steering device 10 together with a steering link mechanism 6 with the required steering quantity in response to the steering quantity on the front wheels 1 side. In the rear wheel steering ratio variable mechanism 11, a steering angle ratio sensor 22 detecting the rear wheel steering ratio based on the displacement quantity in the right or left direction from the axis Z of a lever 15 by a motor 16, steering angle sensors 23 and 24 detecting steering angles of the front and rear wheels respectively and a car speed sensor 21 are provided. These sensor signals are inputted to a controller 20, the front and rear wheel steering angle signals are compared with the car speed signal and the steering angle ratio signal, and the abnormality of the steering angle ratio sensor 22 or the like are judged.
