To provide a receiver and a received signal level control method capable of converging a level of a received signal at high speed by using feed forward control processing and feedback control processing even when a hardware characteristic is changed due to the effect of a secular change or the hardware characteristics are different between receivers of the same kind.

A feedforward control section 140 determines a gain control value on the basis of a level of a received signal and a correspondence table, and adjusts the level of the received signal by using the determined gain control value. A feedback control section 150 converges an FF output level to a prescribed level on the basis of the FF output level denoting an adjusted level. When the FF output level is converged to the prescribed level, a correction section 154 corrects the gain control value in the correspondence table so as to bring the FF output level close to the prescribed level depending on a magnitude of a difference between the FF output level and the prescribed level.
