To avoid an increase in thickness direction dimension of a recording apparatus, and also, stabilize the attitude of a recording medium to be discharged, in the recording device including a nearly U-shaped recording medium conveyance path to feed the recording medium from a recording medium storage unit to the lower side of the apparatus, reverse the feeding direction of the medium by a reverse path unit, and then, convey the medium to the upper side of the apparatus.

An inkjet printer 1 includes the nearly U-shaped paper conveyance path to feed paper P from a paper cassette 11 wherein the paper P is stored along the vertical direction, to the lower side of the printer, reverse the feeding direction by the reverse path unit formed of a feed roller 17, and then, convey the medium to the upper side of the printer. In the paper conveyance path, the path after changing the conveying direction from a downward direction to an upward direction by the reverse path unit is tilted toward the paper cassette 11, accordingly, a free space is formed above the tilt path portion, then, the increase in thickness direction dimension of the printer is avoided through good use of the free space.
