PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium production device that facilitates various kinds of maintenance such as replacement, repair, servicing and inspection.SOLUTION: A recording medium production device has a material supply unit that supplies a fiber-containing material containing cellulose fiber and resin, and a carrying part that carries the fiber-containing material supplied from the material supply unit to apply it to a base material. On the base material, a recording layer composed of the fiber-containing material is formed. At least one of the material supply unit and the carrying part can be displaced between a first position where it can form the recording layer and a second position where it retreats from the first position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
