To prevent the additional value of a recording medium from being degraded due to a margin by spacing the marginal width being left at the circumferential fringe part of an image recording region, at the time of forming an image on a sheet-like recording medium, by a specified distance from the side against which the margin faces when it is separated at a part of an easily fracturable means.
The end side 1a of a recording medium 1 is set forward and the distance W1 from an easily fracturable means 2 to the fringe part of an image on the side provided with the means 2 is set to match the distance W2 of a non-image recording region (margin) W2 on the front side in the carrying direction A. The recording medium 1 is carried into an apparatus and the upper/ lower fringes and the rear fringe thereof are held appropriately at specified positions before an image recording region 5 is formed at a specified position of a using part 3. In this regard, widths W3, W4 represent marginal parts of same width and the width W0 on the cut-off part 4 side represents a relatively large margin as compared with the width W2 on the front side. When the cut-off part 4 is cut off separately from the easily fracturable means 2, the width W1 of the rear side margin 6 is equalized to the front side width W2.
