PURPOSE: To obtain a recorder of long life and to enhance the recording quality, by a method wherein energy is applied on a transfer layer in a transfer paper by a laser beam or a light which is transmitted through a glass sheet so as to transfer the transfer layer on a transferred paper.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer paper 7 and a transferred paper 8 are carried by a carry rubber roller 9. In a glass sheet 10, only the contacting surface with the transfer paper 7 is allowed to pass light in the direction of the arrow from the bottom. In this construction, a laser beam 12 irradiated on the light- transparent portion is further transmitted through a base layer 6, which causes energy to concentrate on a hot melt ink in a transfer layer 5. As a result, the ink is melted and transferred on the transferred paper 8 to perform recording thereon. The energy can be changed by adjusting the wavelength, frequency, and output control, of the laser beam, as well as the thickness and material of the glass sheet, and the like to obtain a good recording quality. The transferring performed by the laser beam energy allows a long life in terms of wear.
