Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-type rectangular alkaline storage battery low in cost with high reliability, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION: This rectangular alkaline storage battery is provided with a rectangular case 11 opened at one end 11a; a cap part 12 formed at the other end on the opposite side to one end 11a of the case 11; an electrode plate group 13 arranged inside the case 11; and a sealing plate 14 for sealing one end 11a. The electrode plate group 13 is provided with a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate and a separator. The negative electrode and the case 11 are in contact. The cap part 12 is provided with a gas exhaust port and a safety valve and functions as a negative electrode terminal, and the sealing plate and the positive electrode plate are electrically connected to each other.
