When melting pressed scrap of end-of-life vehicles or scrap of waste electrical household appliances provided from the unshredded end-of-life vehicles or waste electrical household appliances, by using a melting facility 1 having a melting chamber 2 provided with a heat source and a shaft type preheating chamber 3 directly connected to the melting chamber, this recycling method includes melting the pressed scrap of end-of-life vehicles or the scrap of waste electrical household appliances in the melting chamber with the heat source, while promoting gassification and burning of combustibles included in the pressed scrap of end-of-life vehicles or the scrap of waste electrical household appliances, by supplying the pressed scrap of end-of-life vehicles or the scrap of waste electrical household appliances to the preheating chamber, as well as supplying an oxygen-containing gas to the melting chamber, so as to maintain a state that the unmelted pressed scrap of end-of-life vehicles or the scrap of waste electrical household appliances exists in the melting chamber and the preheating chamber, and tapping a molten metal 17 when its predetermined amount has generated in the melting chamber.
