Title:
RED PHOSPHOR MATERIAL, WHITE LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE USING THE SAME, AND ILLUMINATOR USING THE WHITE LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005179498
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a white light-emitting diode improved in color reproducibility, color rendering tendency and luminous efficiency.

A red phosphor material consisting of an europium-activated calcium-lanthanum tungstate of the general formula: Ca3(La1-xEux)W2O12(0<x≤1) is provided. The white light-emitting diode using the red phosphor material is also provided. This diode efficiently emits red color in the luminous wavelength region for ultraviolet light-emitting diode, i.e. 350-410 nm and also can efficiently convert to red color the rays of about 465 nm falling in the wavelength region for blue light-emitting diode and rays of about 538 nm falling in the wavelength region for green light-emitting diode, respectively.
