To provide a reed for a loom having a small passing resistance even on passing knots formed on one straight line in transverse direction of a row of warp yarns, passing the knots smoothly between dents of the reed and not generating a yarn cut.

This reed for a loom is constituted by keeping an interval h between adjacent dents of the reed as an approximately same interval in the central part of the dents of the reed and having larger intervals k1, k2 between the dents of the reed in the top end part or a bottom end part thereof than the interval h of central part, and the preferable style of the dents of the reed is provided by arranging a vertical dent 1 and the deformed dent 2 alternately.
