Title:
REFRIGERANT SUPPLY/DISCHARGE UNIT FOR SUPERCONDUCTING ELECTRIC ROTATING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3215267
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control intrusion of heat from a heat source into a liquid coolant by providing a channel for feeding a part of gaseous refrigerant to a bearing part through a hollow shaft, and a bearing cooling hole.
CONSTITUTION: The protective cover 7 for a bearing 4 is provided with a bearing cooling groove 9 and a hollow shaft 2 is provided, at the end part of an outermost multiplex pipe 8, with a hole 10 for discharging a gaseous refrigerant radially. Furthermore, a channel 11 for gas coolant is provided between them. A gas discharge pipe 12, communicated with the bearing cooling groove 9, is fixed to the outer circumferential face of the protective tube 7 corresponding to the bearing cooling groove 9. The gaseous refrigerant, evaporated in a refrigerant storage tank within a rotor 3, passes through the parts to be cooled of the compositional members of the rotor and discharged to the outside through a discharge path comprising the multiplex pipe 8. This structure eliminates the need of any water cooling and water supply/discharge mechanism by utilizing a part of discharged gaseous refrigerant for cooling.
