To obtain a refrigeration cycle apparatus which is capable of computing the quantity of required refrigerants.
A refrigerant circuit is constituted by pipe-connecting a compressor 1 which compresses and discharges a sucked refrigerant, a condenser 2 which condenses the refrigerant through heat exchange, an expansion valve 3 for decompressing the refrigerant relating to condensation, and an evaporator 4 which evaporates the refrigerant by heat-exchanging the refrigerant relating to decompression and air. A refrigeration cycle apparatus includes a pressure detector for detecting a pressure in the refrigerant circuit, an ambient temperature detector for detecting an ambient temperature of the refrigerant circuit, a condenser fan 14 for promoting heat exchange in the condenser, an evaporator fan 15 for promoting heat exchange in the evaporator, and a control device 16. The control device drives at least either the condenser fan 14 or the evaporator fan 15 and determines the internal capacity of the refrigerant circuit and the quantity of refrigerants corresponding to the internal capacity on the basis of the pressure relating to the detection of the pressure detector and the temperature relating to the detection of the ambient temperature detector after a predetermined amount of inactive gas encapsulated in the refrigerant circuit is heat exchanged with air.
