To provide a refrigeration cycle apparatus in which a leaked refrigerant amount is reduced as much as possible by quickly recovering a refrigerant if the refrigerant leaks from the refrigeration cycle, and a refrigerant recovery container can be miniaturized.
The refrigeration cycle apparatus includes: first on-off valves 5 configured to be able to open and close at least two or more locations in a circulation flow path so that the circulation flow path of the refrigeration cycle through which a refrigerant flows is blocked and divided into a plurality of regions; a refrigerant sensor 6 disposed in each closable region to detect leakage of the refrigerant from the circulation flow path in each region; recovery means (second on-off valve 7, a check valve 8, a refrigerant recovery pipe 9, and a vacuum cylinder 10) connected to each region of the circulation flow path to suck and recover the refrigerant in the circulation flow path; and a control part 11 for controlling so as to close first on-off valves 5 at least at two locations for closing a region where the refrigerant sensor 6 is disposed, when the refrigerant sensor 6 detects the leakage of the refrigerant, and to recover the refrigerant in the circulation flow path by the recovery means connected to the circulation flow path in the region.
