Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively regenerate a large quantity of an activated carbon by providing the device with a rotary regenerating drum for heating and regenerating the activated carbon and a combustion means for burning an unburned component in a waste gas generated in the regeneration at the time of regenerating a spent activated carbon.
SOLUTION: In the regeneration of the activated carbon, at first a blower 3 is driven to blow air into the regenerating drum 1 and the temp. in a combustion equipment 4 is increased to the burning temp. by working a burner 9 and a blower 10. At the same time, the spent activated carbon is fed to a hopper 18 of a supply device 5. The spent activated carbon is fed to a discharge device 6 by the rotation of the regenerating drum 1 while a solvent or the like is burned and removed. A waste gas containing the unburned combustible component in the regenerating drum 1 is mixed with air added from the blower 10 in a mixing part 23, where the entrained fine particulate activated carbon falls down to the bottom to be removed. The waste gas containing the unburned combustible component is fed to a combustion part 24, where the unburned combustible component is burned and made harmless.
