Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten the time for temperature rising to the level where particulates in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine go into combustion, and supply sufficient power for driving a microwave source from a power supply of a car. CONSTITUTION:A filter regeneration device according to the present invention is composed of No.1 blowing means 21, which sends gas other than the exhaust gas to a heating chamber 17 accommodating a catching filter 18, and No.2 blowing means (25-28). In the initial period of microwave current feeding, the gas flowing through the filter is shut approx. perfectly, and the temp. of particulates rises effectively to attain the combustible temp. range in a short time. Then the No.2 blowing means is controlled to widen the particulate combustible range, and the No.1 blowing means is put under control, and thus the high efficiency regenerative characteristic of filter is achieved.
