Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a release device of a pretensioner safety mechanism which can release the safety mechanism of a pretensioner only in the truely desired case and surely prevent malfunction.

CONSTITUTION: The operation lever 66 of a release device 50 actuating and releasing the safety mechanism of a pretensioner 12 releases the safety mechanism by two step operating motion, namely rotation from the position A to the position B and pushing movement from the position B to the position C, and automatically returns to the position A due to energization force only by operation of pushing and rotating a release lever through an opening 64 for operation. Consequently, only when the release is truely desired, the safety mechanism can be released, and malfunction of the pretensioner 12 can be prevented.
