This release valve 8 for the coke oven is equipped with a casing 12 on which an opening 13a through which coke oven gas passes through, is formed, a valve main body 21 for opening/closing the opening by its rotation centering around a rotary shaft 20, and a bearing supporting the rotary shaft 20 as rotatable, and disengaging the coke oven gas into atmosphere on the elevated pressure of the coke oven gas in a gas-collecting tube 7 of the coke oven. The rotary shaft 20 penetrates the casing 12, and the bearing is arranged at the outside of the casing 12. Even if the release valve is opened, the fixation of tar or naphthalene on the bearing is suppressed.
