To provide a remote write and erase device capable of writing and erasing even from a remote position by a constitution comprising a photochromic material-coated board and a pen for emitting an light beam.

The remote write and erase device comprises a board 11 coated by a photochromic material; a writing pen 12 for emitting a coloring light beam 19 for coloring the photochromic material 14; and an erasing pen 12 for emitting an erasing light beam 20 for decoloring a part colored by the coloring light beam 19 of the board. By casting the coloring light beam 19 from the writing pen 12 to the board 11, a part irradiated with the coloring light beam 19 is colored to carry out writing. By radiating the erasing light beam 20 from the erasing pen 12 onto the colored part of the board 11, the colored part is decolored.
