Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition consisting essentially of a protein which is an environmentally friendly nonfossil resource and having excellent mechanical strength and heat and water resistances.
SOLUTION: The resin composition consists essentially of (A) the protein, (B) at least one kind of a rosin derivative and a terpene-phenol resin and (C) a compound having a functional group capable of carrying out a cross-linking reaction with the component (B). A resin having required characteristics is readily obtained by subjecting the composition to the cross-linking reaction using a reactional catalyst.
