To obtain the subject resin enabling to produce fuel hoses excellent in low temperature impact resistance, fatigue-resistant characteristics and gasoline penetration resistance at the same processing coat as that for a conventional resin by controlling the amount of low mol.wt. materials extracted from polyamide with gasoline to a specific value or less.
This resin for fuel hoses contains (A) a polyamide resin in an amount of e.g. ≥60wt.%, preferably ≥70wt.%. Therein, the total amount of monomers and oligomers extracted from the component A with gasoline is controlled to ≤1.5wt.%. The component A is preferably nylon 11 or nylon 12 good in flexibility and low temperature impact resistance which are characteristics required for the fuel hoses. For example, the resin for the fuel hoses can cylindrically be extruded from an extruder through a die in a melted state, formed and cooled in a prescribed size and a circular shape with a forming device and subsequently cut in a prescribed length through a take-off device to produce the fuel hoses.
