Title:
RESISTANT GENE TO PLANT DISEASE INJURY CAUSED BY MICROBE BELONGING TO MAGNAPOTHE GRISEA, PLANT TRANSFORMED BY THE GENE AND PRODUCTION OF THE PLANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000166570
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain the subject gene including a DNA having a specific base sequence, and useful for e.g. creating rice varieties resistant to rice blight.

This new gene includes a DNA having a base sequence of formula I or formula II, or DNA hybridizable with the above DNA under stringent conditions, and encoding a protein having activity to impart plants with resistance to plant disease injuries caused by microbes belonging to Magnapothe grisea, therefore being useful for e.g. Oryza sativa plant transformed by this kind of gene resistant to rice blight. This new gene is obtained by screening a genomic library derived from rice variety #1 with a partial sequence probe.
