Title:
REVERSE CURRENT-CARRYING PREVENTING DEVICE FOR ALKALINE DRY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000030716
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent current-carrying in the case of reverse connection, by covering at least part of a surface of the minus pole exposed on an end part of an alkaline dry battery with an insulating sheet.

A flat surface of the minus pole 13 of an alkaline dry battery exposed on the other end thereof on the opposite side of one end from which the plus pole 12 of the alkaline dry battery projects, is provided with a circular insulating sheet 14 of a fixed thickness, stuck thereon, made up of, for example, a polycarbonate sheet and having the same size as the surface. An opening 15 is provided in a part of the insulating sheet, preferably in a center position thereof where the minus pole 13 makes contact with the plus pole 12 of another alkaline dry battery. It is desirable that the insulating sheet 14 has an insulating seal B that covers an upper surface of an adhesive A spread over one surface thereof and is peeled off before the sheet is stuck. When a plurality of alkaline dry batteries 11 are connected, under normal conditions, the plus pole 12 of one alkaline dry battery is connected to the minus pole 13 of another through the opening 15 in the insulating sheet, but, if they are connected in reverse, the minus poles 13 of the alkaline dry batteries abut on each other interposing the insulating sheet 14 there between, thus providing non-conduction.
