Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare rigid polyvinyl chloride foam which is producable in a conventional facility without using chlorofluorocarbonate as a foaming agent.
CONSTITUTION: (1) Polyvinyl chloride or a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate in an amount of 100 pts.wt., (2) 5 to 50 pts.wt. of a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, ionomer or chlorosulfonate-polyethylene, (3) 5 to 50 pts.wt. of nitrile rubber, acrylnitrile/butadiene/styrene rubber, methylacrylate/butadiene/styrene rubber, isobutylene rubber or natural rubber, (4) 1-5 pts.wt. of a stabilizer, (5) 1-30 pts.wt. of a chemical foaming agent, (6) 0.2 to 5 pts.wt. of a crosslinking agent and (7) 1 to 5 pts.wt. of a lubricant are mixed at 100°C to 150°C and then, charged into a specified mold, heated and pressurized at 120 to 170°C for 10 to 60 minutes to produce a rigid polyvinylchloride foamed material.
