Abstract:

To provide a ring-shaped member manufacturing method by which the welding time and the welding energy of both end parts of a ring-shaped member are reduced, and the amount of scattering spatter is also reduced.

The ring-shaped member manufacturing method comprises the steps of: bending a strip-like metal stock of a predetermined length into an annular shape in the planar direction thereof; notching the outside diameter side of the strip-like metal stock while leaving the inside diameter side of both ends of the strip-like metal stock in a condition of predetermined width and a predetermined length; and starting the flash-butt welding from a tip of the inside diameter side of both ends of the strip-like metal stock, and welding both ends to each other.
