Abstract:
To provide a sizing agent consisting of a rosin-based emulsion composition capable of imparting sizing property which is needed by newsprint and resists against wetting water during lithography by a relatively small amount of addition even on the quick drying of high-speed paper making.
A rosin-based emulsion composition for newsprint comprises a dispersing agent containing a copolymer comprising a rosin-based substance and a (meth)acrylic ester monomer as constituting components, and the (meth) acrylic ester is a monomer can constitute a homopolymer having a glass transition temperature of 0°C or lower. A method for manufacturing newsprint by using the composition and newsprint paper.
