Title:
ROTARY PILE-HEAD BASE-ISOLATING DEVICE GIVING CONSIDERATION TO SAFETY OF TRAVELING OF TRAIN DURING EARTHQUAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007051436
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a rotary pile-head base-isolating device giving consideration to the safety of the traveling of a train during an earthquake, which enables the safe traveling of the train even during the earthquake by restraining a train track from being displaced in a direction orthogonal to the train track by earthquake ground motion in the direction orthogonal to the train track.

This rotary pile-head base-isolating device giving consideration to the safety of the traveling of the train during the earthquakes comprises: a lower pedestal 1 on the side of an upper surface of a pile head which is arranged on the foundation of the train track; an upper pedestal 2 on a footing side which is arranged on the train track; and a steel elliptical sphere rotator 3 with a major axis 3A longer than a minor axis which is interposed between lower and upper pedestals 1 and 2. The base-isolating device is arranged in such a manner that the direction of the major axis 3A of the rotator 3 corresponds to a direction perpendicular to a railway, orthogonal to a railway direction B, and displacement which is caused by the earthquake ground motion E acting in the direction perpendicular to the railway is partially shifted to displacement in the railway direction B, so that displacement in the direction perpendicular to the railway can be suppressed.
