Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for generating the moving route of an automatic traveling machine such as a lawn mower provided with an autonomous navigation device based upon a GPS by an off-line personal computer.
SOLUTION: A lawn mower to be an automatic traveling machine is provided with a controller 200, a GPS receiver 510 and various sensors and has an autonomous traveling function. Simultaneously with the manual operation of the lawn mower in an object working area, survey is executed by the use of a GPS and survey data are entered into an FD or the like. The survey data are processed by an off-line personal computer 800 and geographic data and an obstruction are prepared to obtain map data 852. A moving route path 854 and operation data 856 for the lawn mower are prepared based upon the map data 852 and supplied to the controller 200 in the lawn mower through an FD medium.
