To provide an ethylene-α-olefin-nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber-based rubber composition for a rubber roll by which a rubber roll having excellent wear resistance can be obtained.

The rubber composition for a rubber roll comprises specified amounts of components (A) to (D): the component (A) is composed of copolymer rubber of a rubber component (1) in 60 to 75 wt.% and a rubber component (2) in 40 to 25 wt.%, wherein [(the iodine value of the rubber component (1))-(the iodine value of the rubber component (2))] is 5 to 30, wherein the rubber component (1) is an ethylene-α-olefin-nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber component in which an ethylene unit is 50 to 80 mol%, an α-olefin unit is 50 to 20 mol% and an iodine value is 10 to 45, and the rubber component (2) is an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer rubber component in which an ethylene unit is >80 to 95 mol%, an α-olefin unit is <20 to ≥5 mol% and an iodine value is 0 to 30; the component (B) is a reinforcing agent component; the component (C) is a softening agent; and the component (D) is a vulcanizing agent.
