PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk capable of effectively preventing the illegal use of the optical disk accompnied with the piracy without lowering the function to record or reproduce the physical format information and disk manufacturing information.
SOLUTION: A DVD-R (DRAW type DVD) 1 is provoded with the main information area 2 furnished with a wobble, whereon the data information is to be recorded, and 1st, 2nd control data areas 3, 15 positioned at the side of inner peripheral part than the main information area 2. The different information structure or physical structure is formed for the 1st control data area 3 and the 2nd control data area 15 respectively. The specific physical format information, the disk manufacturing information, etc., for instance, the final address, the maximum transfer rate, etc., at the time when the write-in is carried out, are recorded on the 2nd control data area 15. When the DVD-R 1 is reproduced by a DVD reproducing device, etc., the physical format information being recorded on the 2nd control data area 15, or the like are read out.
