PURPOSE: To release rush seedlings in a substantially definite posture, the roots of the rush seedlings being loosened and released, by disposing seedling-catching members for correcting the release postures of the rush seedlings on the carrying end sides of carriers for the leaves and stems of the rush seedlings.
CONSTITUTION: In a main loosing device 5, a pair of endless chains 7, 7 are tensely disposed so that the upper parts of the endless chains are separated from each other to form a seedling-guiding entrance 8 and that the lower parts approach each other to face to each other in a V-shaped state. Many tines 18 for thrusting into and loosening the rootstocks of the rush seedlings fed from the seedling-guiding entrance are projected at prescribed distances. A pair of leaf and stem-carrying belts 28, 28 for transferring the leaves and stems of the rush seedlings are disposed on the front sides of the chains 7, 7 and the tines 18, 18..., and seedling-catching members 29, 30 are disposed on the carrying end sides of the leaf and stem-carrying belts to correct the release postures of the rush seedlings.
