Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent lowering of sensitivity while enhancing reproducibility of quantitative analysis by preventing a gaseous sample, injected through a needle, from flowing over from a glass insert at a sample introducing part to the base end part thereby preventing the tailing of chromatogram peak.
CONSTITUTION: A glass insert 2 has the forward end part coupled with one of a capillary column 4 and the base end part provided with a carrier gas introduction pipe 6, a septum purge channel 10, and a septum 12 for injecting a sample by inserting the needle 14 of syringe of a sample injector 16. A pressure control section 20 takes in the output detected by a pressure sensor 18 and controls the carrier gas pressure through a pressure regulator 8, and at the same, controls the operation of the sample injector 16 and the injection timing of sample. The pressure control section 20 is operated according to a control program, to increase the inlet pressure of column linearly and keep it constant and injection of sample is ended during the pressure rise.
