Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scale inhibitor having large effect preventing the adhesion of various scales formed in a cooling water system or a boiler waste system and having extremely excellent effect especially for preventing the adhesion of silica and calcium type scales.
SOLUTION: A scale inhibitor contains a homopolymer represented by the formula CH2=CHNHCOR (wherein R is hydrogen or a 1-4C alkyl group) of N-vinylcarboxylic amide, a water-soluble copolymer of said amide and a vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith or a water-soluble polymer having a primary amino group obtained by hydrolyzing said homopolymer or copolymer.
