Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner capable of preventing a system down while suppressing stop impact of a carriage when a plurality of motors are simultaneously driven and a voltage drop occurs.SOLUTION: A scanner comprises a feeding motor and a transporting motor serving as power sources for driving a transportation mechanism that transports a sheet. The scanner further comprises a carriage motor serving as a power source for driving a carriage which is movable in a direction intersecting with a transportation direction of sheets with respect to the sheet fed and has a recording head that performs printing onto the sheet. When a plurality of motors is being driven at the time of detection of a voltage drop of the a power supply section (positive determination in S12), a computer which controls and drives each motor stops driving of the feeding motor and the transporting motor (S13), continues driving of the carriage motor and hence movement of the carriage (S15).
