Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw of a metal injection molding machine for enhancing the thermal exchange efficiency to a metal at a feed unit, and reducing the torque required for the rotation.
SOLUTION: The screw of the metal injection molding machine comprises a feed unit 2 having a flight 4 spirally provided on an outer circumference of a shaft part to carry a metal from the upstream side to the downstream side in the metal carrying direction, a compression unit (not shown) to compress the metal carried by the feed unit 2, and a melting unit (not shown) to melt the metal compressed by the compression unit. A plurality of groove volumes are demarcated by each side surface of the adjacent flights 4 and an outer circumferential surface of the shaft part of the screw, in which relatively small groove volumes 3a1 and 3a2 and relatively large groove volumes 3b1 and 3b2 are alternately arranged.
