Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flashback arrestor being easy to use and replaceable using such a way that the functionality of the flashback arrestor located in the immediate vicinity of a head of a cutting torch can fully be secured in order to restrict a flashback within the head.
SOLUTION: Flashback protection is provided in or near the head 22 of the cutting torch by a fixture 20 assuming the configuration of either a cutting tip or an adapter attached to the head 22. The fixture includes a body part and a porous structure 30 supported against the body part and serving as a component element separate from the body part. The porous structure has a multiplicity of convolute passages 80 extending therethrough in order to restrict the flashback.
