Abstract:
To provide a sealing material suppressing occurrence of crack, having high adhesiveness and transparency to an object to be sealed and capable of reducing deterioration with time, and to provide a surface mounting type LED (light emitting diode) element in which it is suppressed that the radiant intensity becomes small with time.
The sealing material for optical elements is composed of a cyclic olefin-based polymer having a specific structural unit. In the surface mounting type LED element, a sealing structure is formed by the sealing material and the sealing material is the above sealing material for the optical elements.
