Abstract:

To maintain excellent images for a long time and make durability excellent by forming a seamless belt out of a composition which contains a specified weight percentage of thermoplastic fluororubber, a specified weight percentage of carbon black, and a specified value of volume specific resistance.

A seamless belt contains 98-75wt.% of thermoplastic fluororubber which is formed of a hard segment consisting of fluororesin and a soft segment consisting of a copolymer of two or more kinds of fluorine monomers and 2-25wt.% of carbon black. A volume specific resistance is set within a range of 1×108-1×1012Ω.cm. In manufacturing, the seamless belt which is extruded by continuous fusion extrusion molding should have necessary conductive property, uniform thickness, and mechanical strength in an unstretched state. Because, though improvement of the mechanical strength can be expected by stretching operation, uniformity of the conductive property is damaged and avoidance in the stretching direction becomes difficult, so that the durability is also damaged.
