Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for estimating a charge state or a deterioration state of a nickel hydrogen battery without inhibiting cell reaction of the nickel hydrogen battery.SOLUTION: A secondary battery system includes: a cell (nickel hydrogen battery) 101; a camera 220; and an EU 300. The cell 101 includes: an electrode body 140 containing a nickel hydroxide as a positive electrode active material 160; a case 120 housing the electrode body 140 therein; and observation windows 151, 152 provided on the external surface of the case 120. The camera 220 takes an image of the positive electrode active material 160 through the observation windows 151, 152. Using an image of the positive electrode active material 160 taken by the camera 220, the ECU 300 estimates at least one of a charge state or a deterioration state of the cell 101.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
