PURPOSE: To obtain a sensor for monitoring solute in liquid flow capable of easily altering to different optical fiber cable and the gap length of different type.
CONSTITUTION: The sensor for monitoring solute in liquid flow comprises a sensor carrier 38, first and second sensor bodies 26, 44 adjustably mounted in the carrier, and first and second lens units mounted in the bodies 26, 44 and having connecting means of the cable. The carrier 38 is constituted to hold the first and second lens units oppositely held to limit the fluid gap 46 therebetween. Both the lens units are disposed on the same optical axis so that the light from one of the units crosses the gap and the part of the light therebetween is absorbed to the fluid in the gap and the residue is incident to the other one.
