Abstract:
To provide a sensor unit that can accurately detect edge positions in a width direction of a recording medium, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A sensor unit 30 comprises: a CIS 40 that detects edge positions of a sheet P in a sheet width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction; and a lighting unit 60 that is arranged on the opposite side of the CIS 40 with respect to a sheet conveyance path 12 and radiates light toward the CIS 40. The lighting unit 60 has an LED 62 that emits light, and a diffuser panel 65 that diffuses the light from the LED 62 to prevent unevenness in luminance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
