Abstract:
To provide a sensor unit that can accurately detect edge positions in a width direction of a recording medium, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A sensor unit 30 comprises: a CIS 40 that detects edge positions of a sheet P in a sheet width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction; and a lighting unit 60 that is arranged on the opposite side of the CIS 40 with respect to a sheet conveyance path 12 and radiates light toward the CIS 40. The lighting unit 60 has an LED 62, a light guide 64 that guides light from the LED 62, and a lighting housing 67 that holds the light guide 64. The light guide 64 has a light guide part 64a that extends in the sheet width direction, and a flange part 64b that is formed integrally with the light guide part 64a, overhangs on both sides of a direction perpendicular to the sheet width direction, and extends in the sheet width direction. The lighting housing 67 has a support part 68e that supports the flange part 64b from the CIS 40 side. The support part 68e blocks light emitted from the flange part 64b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
