Abstract:
To provide a sensor unit that can accurately detect edge positions in a width direction of a recording medium, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A sensor unit 30 comprises: a CIS 40 that detects edge positions of a sheet P in a sheet width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction; and a lighting unit 60 that is arranged on the opposite side of the CIS 40 with respect to a sheet conveyance path 12 and radiates light toward the CIS 40. The lighting unit 60 has an LED 62, and a light guide 64 that guides light from the LED 62 in the sheet width direction. The CIS 40 has a plurality of light receiving units 43 arranged in the sheet width direction. A light blocking piece 85 blocking the light directly incident on the light receiving units 43 from the LED 62 is provided between the LED 62 and light receiving units 43.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
