PURPOSE: To settle a caisson with high accuracy by preventing the inclination of the caisson by a method in which a pinion with a driver is provided around the ground where a structure is to be constructed, and racks corresponding to the pinion are provided on the outer wall of the caisson.
CONSTITUTION: A supporting wall 2 is placed around the ground 1 where a caisson 13 is to be settled, a pinion 3 is rotatably attached by a bracket to the upper end of the supporting wall 2, and each of the pinions 3 is turned by each separate driver (not illustrated). Then, the caisson 13 is set on the inside ground of the supporting wall 2, racks 14 are each attached vertically to places corresponding to the pinion 3 on the outer wall of the caisson 13, and the inside ground of the caisson 13 is excavated to settle the caisson 13. In the settling of the caisson, the revolving numbers of the pinions 3 are equally controlled in such a way as to settle the caisson 13 while being kept horizontally.
