To provide a shadow-picture lantern capable of promptly and securely performing initial rotating operation of an inner cylinder, stably rotating the inner cylinder at constant speed all the time without depending on the temperature of outside air, projecting a shadow picture on an outer cylinder and promoting energy saving and elongation of the service life by using an illumination lamp with low heat generation such as a fluorescent lamp with low heat generation if necessary.

On a hollow base 1, a required illumination lamp 2, the rotatable translucent inner cylinder 3 with the picture surrounding the illumination lamp 2 and the translucent outer cylinder 8 surrounding the inner cylinder 3 are sequentially arranged concentrically. A top plate 5 having exhaust ports 6 and blade bodies 7 is mounted to the upper end part of the inner cylinder 3. Inside the base 1, a fan 14 for rotating the inner cylinder 3 while sending air from blast holes 10 to inside of the inner cylinder 3 to apply the air to the blade bodies 7 is internally provided.
