Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device conveying even a thin paper sheet without generating any wrinkle or the like and an image reading device provided with this sheet conveying device for preventing deterioration in reading image quality.
SOLUTION: A guide film 20 pressing a sheet onto a reading face 18 is arranged. As to a thin sheet, a wrinkle or the like is corrected by an action of the guide film 20. If a sheet has a bent or the like, the guide film 20 is deformed to be relieved, so that no jam is caused. When a white opaque guide film 20 is used and arranged over a wide area in the reading face 18, reading of an unnecessary background can be prevented even if a document is smaller than a reading width.
