To obtain a sheet for a light transmitting layer so as to obtain an optical recording medium having a light transmitting layer comprising a light transmitting sheet and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on a disk substrate, to prevent formation of a pattern of the level difference by minute surface deformation produced near a winding core 20 and by the level difference in the initial portion for winding, to prevent deterioration in the surface property of the sheet in the inner circumference side, and to supply an optical recording medium having excellent characteristics and stable quality.
A lead film 21a having a four-layer structure consisting of a protective film 11a, a light-transmitting sheet 13a, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer 14a and a protective film 12a is formed into the maximum length to produce the pattern of the level difference caused by the level difference in the initial portion for winding or by the surface roughness of the winding core 20. The film end to start winding is adhered to the winding core 20. A source material part 21b having the same four- layer structure and the same thickness as those of the lead film 21a is prepared to have a protruding part of the protective film 12b in the end part to start winding. The protruding part is adhered and joined with the pressure sensitive adhesive layer 14a of the lead film 21a.
