Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of jam due to catching of sheets with unit movement by extending the binding opening at the movement when a binding unit moving along a sheet edge moves along the sheet end edge.SOLUTION: A sheet processing device comprises a binding unit which moves along an end edge of a sheet bundle placed on a placement tray. The binding unit includes: a reception part which has an opening for receiving a portion of the placed sheet bundle; and a sheet guide 86. The sheet guide 86 can be located between the guide position (ML3 range) for carrying in the sheets with the narrowed opening and the extended position (ML1 range) having the wider opening than the opening of the guide position, and the sheet guide is located at the extended position (ML1 range) when the binding unit moves along the sheet bundle end edge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
