Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device that can finish a bound sheet bundle preferably without twisting the sheet parts except a press binding area.SOLUTION: A post-processing device 200 comprises: binding means, such as an upper press-bonding tooth 20 and a lower press-bonding tooth 21, which perform binding processing by pressurizing and deforming unevenly a part of a sheet bundle 8 having a plurality of sheets 7 overlapped with one another; water adding means, such as a water adding mechanism 28, which makes bound areas of sheets before being subjected to binding processing to absorb moisture; and masking means, such as a masking mechanism 37, which masks the vicinity of a boundary of the bound areas of the sheets and areas outside the vicinity so as to prevent water from being added to the masked areas of the sheets. When water is added by the water adding mechanism 28 to sheets which become a front surface of the sheet bundle which is subjected to binding processing, the sheets are masked by the masking mechanism 37.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
